Objective
As part of our strategic expansion into East Africa, we are seeking to develop a deep and data-driven understanding of the Ugandan eCommerce landscape. The primary objective of this initiative is to assess market readiness, consumer behavior, digital payment adoption, delivery expectations, and overall demand for integrated eCommerce support services.

To achieve this, we are undertaking a structured six-week market survey through online chat-based interactions. This initiative will provide valuable insights into customer preferences, pain points, and emerging opportunities within Uganda’s digital commerce ecosystem. The findings will help us navigate market entry strategy, service customization, and long-term investment decisions, ensuring a well-aligned and sustainable expansion into the region.

Employment: Contract/Freelance
Project Duration: 6 Weeks
Compensation: USD 115/week 
Experience: Entry Level

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in structured online chat activities designed to gather insights about the Ugandan market across various sectors.
  • Provide accurate, honest, and well-informed responses based on real knowledge and observations of the local market.
  • Focus on a different market theme each week (e.g., digital payments, e-commerce behavior, logistics, customer preferences, etc.), ensuring comprehensive coverage over the 6-week period.
  • Answer structured and open-ended questions about ecommerce experiences in Uganda
  • Share honest opinions on topics such as:
    • Online shopping habits
    • Payment preferences (mobile money, cards, etc.)
    • Delivery challenges and expectations
    • Trust in ecommerce platforms

 

  • Participate actively in assigned group discussions and submit regular feedback reports as required.
  • Identify emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities within the Ugandan market and communicate findings clearly.
  • Maintain professionalism and consistency in all interactions and responses throughout the project.
  • Adhere strictly to project timelines, deadlines, and survey guidelines provided by the company.
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity when handling any project-related information.

Requirements

  • Must be based in Uganda or possess strong, up-to-date knowledge of the Ugandan market landscape.
  • Excellent written English communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and professionally in a chat-based environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing truthful, accurate, and thoughtful responses.
  • Ability to conduct basic independent research to support responses where necessary.
  • Reliable internet connection and access to a computer or smartphone for consistent participation.
  • Good time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and follow a structured weekly schedule.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
